This book is the published manucript of a Master’s thesis at Samford University. It is no. 6 of 14 copies that were bound and autographed. It is double-spaced and contains an extensive bibliography. The Federal Road was first used in 1806, running from near Athens, Georgia to New Orleans, running through the lands of the Creek Indians. It was important as a Military road during the War of 1812, but its greatest significance is that it opened Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi to settlement.
