Welcome! We have a variety of books primarily pertaining to mining camps and abandoned towns throughout the West. Learn about mining rushes, transportation (roads, railroads, stagecoaches, early autos), and other factors that caused towns to spring up in specific locations. Find out what life was really like for the residents of these towns as they boomed and then slowly faded into ghost towns. Local newspapers covered gunfights, fires, mining disasters, blizzards, and mining frauds as well as the social activities that created a sense of community.

Shipping policy

Books will be mailed to you as media mail through the U.S. Postal service. The shipping charge is a flat rate of $5.00 for each order, regardless of how many books are in the order. So it makes sense to order multiple books at once. This shipping cost applies to retail purchases in the United States only. If you want your order expedited, please email us to make arrangements.

We will ship out your order within 48 hours, so you should receive it within 10 days. If we are unable to ship it within 48 hours for any reason, we will notify you about the delay by e-mail.
