Carrara was a marble camp near the southern end of Bare Mountain, 8 miles south of Beatty, Nevada. Earlier mining ventures created camps and townsites at Telluride and Fluorine, on the east side of the mountain. The book also covers the Gold Ace mine, the cement plant, and the Fluorspar mine.
