This books focuses on Astoria, Washington. It was developed in collaboration with the Pacific Northwest Postal History Society and was previously published as an issue of The Oregon Country. It contains a series of photographs found in the basement when the old post office was being remodeled, plus a sample of early post cards showing the town and its important buildings, a variety of covers demonstrating Astoria’s postal history, and a few other collectible paper items.
This is not intended to be a complete history of Astoria and its post office, but rather a thematic exercise to demonstrate some of the interesting facets of collecting historical paper related to Astoria.
