Just published, Pend Oreille County, the Communities takes you on an historical tour of the county, visiting each of its communities and covering the major events, such as the recurring floods and the great forest fire of 1910.  Many of the illustrations are from a private collection and have not been published before.
    Walla Walla has always been an agricultural town, but it became the most important supply point and communications center for the Idaho mines in the early 1860s.  Walla Walla in the 1860s presents excerpts from its newspaper that demonstrate the excitement and optimism in these raw, early years.
